Timothy J. Donovan VMD, CVA, age 55, of Mattapoisett, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2011. He was the husband of Cheryl (Gray) Donovan R.N. to whom he had been married for seven years. Born in El Paso, TX the son of Patricia (Perry) Atkins of Richmond, VA and the late Hervey Hebert, he has been an area resident most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1974, received his Bachelor's Degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University now UMASS Dartmouth in 1978 and received his Doctorate from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Timothy J. Donovan VMD, CVA, age 55, of Mattapoisett, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2011. He was the husband of Cheryl (Gray) Donovan R.N. to whom he had been married for seven years.
Born in El Paso, TX the son of Patricia (Perry) Atkins of Richmond, VA and the late Hervey Hebert, he has been an area resident most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1974, received his Bachelor's Degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University now UMASS Dartmouth in 1978 and received his Doctorate from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 1981.
Dr. Donovan and his wife started the practice of Kindred Spirits Mobile Veterinary Services together and provided services to their patients at their homes for the past five years. Prior to that he was a partner in the DeWitt Animal Clinic in Plainville, MA for 18 years. He was a member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in which he was certified in 2002, a Bonsai Tree Artist and Collector and an avid photographer. He enjoyed his koi pond and his poodles. In addition he enjoyed many outdoor activities with his wife.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his daughter Atty. Kimberly Cronin of Mattapoisett and her fiancé Douglas Humphrey, a sister Cheryl Donovan McGovern and her husband Mark of Queenstown, MD, a brother Michael Donovan of Virginia, and his brother in law and sister in law Dr. and Mrs. Paul Dunn of Fall River and a cousin Brenda Swanson of Raynham, MA.
